It is about 1.5 inches x 1.5 inches
I did a small spot test with 409 Cleaner on a Q-tip on the bottom to check that it is bakelite.
Thermometer is probably not completely accurate.
No cracks or chips. I only gave it a cursory cleaning of any surface grime, the pips definitely need a decent clean. See photos. Comes from a smoke free home.
